LIVE STREAM Tai Chi with Dr. Richard Gillet

April 18, 2020 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm EDT

Register for Live Stream Tai Chi w/ Dr. Gillet

Tai Chi is an ancient and gentle Chinese martial art which has been shown to have many benefits. On the physical level, Tai Chi practice improves balance and coordination, helping to develop a strong base on which one can stand firm both physically and mentally.  On the mental level, Tai Chi has been shown in scientific studies to significantly improve the focus of the mind. On the emotional level, Tai Chi creates calmness and acceptance.

Almost anyone can practice Tai Chi. All ages are welcome. In terms of fitness, the only requirement is that you can walk. Wear loose fitting clothing to class so that you can move easily.  No prior knowledge of Tai Chi is necessary, though if you have already practiced Tai Chi that is also fine.

Richard will be teaching the Yang 24 style of Tai Chi—sometimes known as short-form Tai Chi. This is a series of 24 movements, each of which merges into the next. In the process of learning this form of movement, you can experience the benefits of calmness, balance, strength, improved focus and a sense of well-being and joy.
