New Orleans Style Procession with Artist Philip Cooper

Saturday, July 14th, 3:00pm to 4:00pm,  Free and one to public!

Join us on July 14th for a free community, New Orleans style, procession from the Makers Lab, along the rail trail and ending at Hurleyville Arts Centre.

The procession is a walk through time with ethereal forms inspired by nature, native culture and the Hurleyville surroundings.  Artist Philip Cooper found inspiration along the rail trail, Fiber on Main and the Sullivan County Historical Society.

Want to make a costume and help ad finishing touches to the puppets? Come to the Hurelyville Makers Lab at 2pm on Thursday July 12. Work with Artist in Residence Philip Cooper and make headdresses to wear and help paint the life size horse, pinwheels and fish that will make up this amazing show of wind animated sculpture.

Directly following the parade at 4:00pm, enjoy an outdoor happening directed by Tannis Kowalchuk, and performed by the Streets theater group.  The original theater creation is an all-ages outdoor show featuring stilt walkers, actors, musicians, and special puppet design by Hurleyville Makers Lab artist in residence Philip Cooper.

Free and open to the public.
