We All Need A…

December 21, 2020

Local Monticello artist Rohan Patrick’s brilliant series of prints, In Need of A…, now graces the Main Street facade of the Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre. Depicting heartfelt hugs in bold blocks of color, the images are a love note to our community and a sincere reminder of how much we need each other. The series is a testament to the unifying power of the arts.

At times when we cannot be physically close to the people we hold dear, artists like Rohan Patrick make work to remind us that we are loved; that we are not alone.

It is time for us to love them back.

The economic disruptions arising from the pandemic have impacted artists in major ways. Shows canceled, commissions put on hold… artists today are under immense financial pressures. That’s why, in 2021 and beyond, despite the difficulty of producing socially-distanced arts programs, HPAC is committed to showcasing and paying locally and internationally acclaimed artists.

Whether we know it or not, we all rely on artists to bring greater meaning, depth, and love to our world. Artists help us find the light in the darkest times. Supporting HPAC today means supporting artists.

Every dollar you donate to HPAC between now and the end of the year goes directly to paying artists and to subsidizing tickets for those in our community who can’t afford them.

There are three tax-deductible ways to give:

> Donate Now. Any amount helps.
> Become a Member. Get perks and discounts to programs.
> Become a Business Sponsor. Support the arts & get visibility for your business.

Rohan Patrick’s images remind us how much we need each other these days. Please give generously to help us support artists like Rohan Patrick and to keep the arts thriving.

Hugs,

Dara, Ellyane, Erin, Janet, Michael, and Tal

We’d like to extend our most sincere gratitude to all those who have already contributed to our Year-End Fundraising Drive. THANK YOU!
